About Me


Michael Graffin (@mgraffin) is an experienced global educator, international presenter, and workshop facilitator based in Perth, Western Australia.

Currently working as an ICT Integrator / Teacher at Iona Presentation Primary School, Michael has been responsible for implementing the K-3 iPad program, and supporting staff professional learning with iPads and 1:1 Macbooks. In 2012, he worked as a Research Assistant on the TPACK iPads in Schools project (http://edujen.com), a research study focused on supporting teachers’ professional development with iPads run by Dr Jenny Lane from Edith Cowan University, Western Australia.

In 2011, Michael co-founded The Global Classroom Project, leading its' development into a world leading online community helping to connect hundreds of teachers, and thousands of students worldwide through global collaborative projects. He created the world's first #globalclassroom themed Twitter chats, which will mark their third anniversary in November 2014. Michael has also served on the board of the International Education and Resource Network (iEARN) Australia Management Team since 2012, and represented his country at the iEARN 2013 conference in Qatar.

Michael has run workshops, and presented at state, national, and international conferences since 2012. He was a keynote speaker at the Science Teachers Association of Western Australia annual conference (2013), the 30th iEARN Annual Conference & Youth Summit (2013), and the OZeLive (online) Conference (2014). In 2015, he was recognised as an ISTE Emerging Leader, and came Runner Up in the ISTE Excellence in Global Collaboration PLN Award.
